UQ Refugee and Humanitarian Scholarship

UQ is offering up to 10 scholarships for students from refugee or asylum seeker backgrounds. The Refugee and Humanitarian Scholarship demonstrates UQ’s commitment to champion diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity. The scholarship is available to refugees residing in Australia who are on a Bridging Visa E, Temporary Protection Visa or a Safe Haven Enterprise Visa. The scholarship will provide a full tuition fee waiver and an $8,000 annual living stipend to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs.

Eligibility

Apply using the online application form. You'll need a: • copy of your UQ offer letter • copy of your current visa • personal statement addressed 'To whom it may concern' dated and signed • Centrelink statement (if applicable). If you receive other financial assistance please upload a statement to explain • copy of last 3 most recent payslips (if currently employed). If you're unemployed please upload a statement to explain • references from employer, community organisation, academic or any other relevant group that wishes to support your scholarship application (if applicable). We'll consider: • academic performance • financial needs • personal qualities • any other evidence which may be deemed relevant to your studies
