The objective of this study is to determine the cost-effectiveness of interventions for respiratory failure across paediatric patients. Focusing on specific randomised controlled trials, the aims include establishing the cost-effectiveness of paediatric interventions for respiratory failure. The project will specifically determine the cost-effectiveness of Transnasal Humidified Rapid Insufflation Ventilatory Exchange in comparison with standard care, and the cost-effectiveness of nasal high flow therapy in comparison with standard oxygen therapy in paediatric patients. Using appropriate economic evaluations models from health economics, the project will provide estimates of cost-effectiveness. The project will investigate alternative models and parameters, focusing on the costing approach and use of administrative data.
