The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) administers the International Scholarships Program (ISP) of Global Affairs Canada. The ISP is comprised of 14 select scholarship components that provide international students and researchers with study and research opportunities in Canada, and that provide Canadian students, researchers and professionals with study and research opportunities abroad.

CBIE provides administration of the program including:
- promotion of the scholarship programs through various communications mechanisms, including the International Scholarships Program website of Global Affairs Canada;
- management of the application and selection processes, as well as the disbursement of funding to selected recipients;
- data compilation, statistical analysis as well as reporting to the Government of Canada; and
- management of events and activities related to the International Scholarship Programs such as round tables, study tours and collaboration missions.
