The Cocoa Trees Scholarship in Chinese Studies
• Singaporeans who are: • 1 st year full-time undergraduates who have been accepted by the UNIVERSITY to study at the Department and who have achieved good results in the GCE A-Levels or equivalent entrance examinations; • 2 nd to 4th year full-time undergraduates enrolled in the UNIVERSITY who have achieved good academic results in their course of study at the Department, i.e. a minimum Cumulative Average Point (CAP) of 3.5; • Full-time undergraduates who have received the Scholarship previously and who wish to be considered again. • Applicants must read Chinese Studies / Chinese Language modules and declare Chinese Studies / Chinese Language as their major after Semester 1 in the first year of study and have obtained a CAP of at least 3.5. • The Scholarship is tenable yearly and awarded in Semester 1 of the Academic Year. • The Selection Committee will give consideration to students who demonstrate the following: Good leadership skills and character records; Good CCA involvement. • In the event that there are more candidates of equal merit, the financial needs will be the deciding factor for breaking ties. 6. No Scholarship will be awarded unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
