The Berrow Foundation Scholarships
A generous gift from the late Marquis de Amodio provides for the award of up to six scholarships each year to enable graduates of Swiss universities to undertake a course of advanced study at the University of Oxford as members of Lincoln College. The four Berrow Foundation Scholarships and two Berrow Foundation Lord Florey Scholarships cover all University and College fees, college accommodation costs and a generous living allowance. They are tenable for up to three years.
Berrow Foundation Scholarships
Berrow Foundation Scholars may follow any course of study within the University leading to the award of a higher degree. Candidates must be nationals of, and domiciled in, either Switzerland or Liechtenstein. They should currently be members of one of the following universities: Berne, Fribourg, Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchatel or the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne, or should not be more than five years beyond graduation from a first degree at one of these institutions.
Berrow Foundation Lord Florey Scholarships
These scholarships are open to candidates of Swiss or Liechtenstein nationality, domiciled in either Switzerland or Liechtenstein, who are graduates from any Swiss university, including the ETHZ and the EPFL, and who must not be more than five years beyond graduation from their first degree at one of these institutions. They are intended for candidates accepted to read for a graduate degree in medical, chemical or biochemical sciences at Oxford University as members of Lincoln College. The successful candidates will also have access to a generous research fund to assist them to attend conferences at which they wish to present papers or posters.
Prospective candidates should note that research which involves the use of human embryos or their creation, including by cloning, or the use of human embryonic stem cells will NOT be funded by this Foundation. Lincoln College fully respects the Foundation's inability to fund such research. The College, however, welcomes applications from candidates interested in this or related areas of research, who are able to find financial support from other sources.
The TOEFL® test is a popular option for students to meet the English-language requirements for scholarships.
