The scholarship shall be awarded to the candidate who has been admitted to, or completed, the final year of undergraduate studies in the School of Fine Arts of the University of Canterbury and who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, shows the most promise and potential as a sculptor. In the event of there being two candidates of equal merit, preference shall be given to the candidate whose financial circumstances are such that difficulty would be experienced in completing the course without financial assistance.
