A required feature for successful deployment of high-altitude balloons in safety- and security-critical missions is the facility for balloons to autonomously organise themselves in the best configurations for specified mission requirements. The relationship between the position and orientation of the platform is highly correlated with the utility of the information collected. This project will develop appropriate models and algorithms to support this goal.
