Ornua is a dairy co-operative which sells dairy products on behalf of its Members; Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. It is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products, exporting to 110 countries worldwide. Headquartered in Dublin, it has annualised sales of over €2.3 billion and a global team of 2,400 employees. Ornua operates from 10 business units worldwide, including 13 production facilities, and has sales and marketing teams working in-market across all four corners of the globe.

The Ornua Scholarship is open to those who have applied and accepted a place on the MSc in Co-operatives, Agri-Food and Sustainable Development. It is valued at €12,500.

Eligibility

  • Students must secure a minimum Second Class Honours Grade 1 in an approved primary degree or equivalent.
  • Students must have applied for the MSc Co-operatives, Agri-Food and Sustainable Development via the UCC Applications System, have received an offer and have accepted a place on the programme to qualify to apply for the Scholarship.
  • Students must be EU/UK applicants

Application

Applications must be made using the application form on the website and include a short personal statement in response to the following (max. 1000 words):

“What impact would achieving this scholarship have for you?”

A shortlist of students will be chosen and an interview will take place to discuss your application. The judging panel will include the co directors of the programme and a representative from Ornua Co-operatives Limited.

Applicants must name at least two referees – one academic and one professional.
