Subject study: Development of phantoms for the validation of an MRI structural spectroscopy sequence
The successful candidate will join the MRes in Medicine and Life Sciences at Swansea University Medical School. The Medical School provides an environment of M-level teaching and PhD research in medical physics.
The scholarship is a collaborative award with an external partner, Acuitas Medical (http://www.acuitasmedical.com/), a Swansea-based SME. The research project will assist in the development of tools for the validation of a novel MRI sequence, developed by Acuitas Medical; use being made of clinical imaging facilities at the Institute of Life Science (http://www.swansea.ac.uk/medicine/research/researchfacilities/jointclinicalresearchfacility/clinicalimagingfacility/)
The scholarship provides 1 year of funding with a 3 month period to complete the thesis.
Candidates should hold a 2:1 undergraduate degree or above in the physical sciences or engineering. Please see website for more information on eligibility criteria.
The studentship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a stipend. The bursary will be limited to a maximum of £11,313 p.a. dependent upon the applicant's financial circumstances. Please see website for more details.
