The Margarete von Wrangell-Habilitation Programme aims to encourage qualified women scientists to complete a postdoctoral Habilitation at a university in Baden-Württemberg. The funding gives them the opportunity to remain integrated in their teaching and profession, while nevertheless completing their research work. To qualify for participation, applicants must already hold a doctorate. Their work must be carried out at a university in the State of Baden-Württemberg. Since the funding consists of an employment contract, participants are covered by social security insurance for the whole 5-year funding term. The number of participants varies from year to year. This year saw eight women take part.

Eligibility
Excellent female academics at universities, colleges of education, art or music in the State of Baden-Württemberg are encouraged to gain their qualification to teach in higher education (habilitation) and be funded to be able to do so.
Academic Requirements Doctorate, preliminary work towards habilitation should have already been conducted

Benefits
Participants are paid in accordance with the Baden-Württemberg salary scale. This is a TV-L-13 position. It relates to around 25,000 euros per semester. Since the funding consists of an employment contract, the scholarship holder is also covered by social security insurance.
