- 4 January 2017
The College of St Mary Magdalene is located in the centre of Cambridge beside the bridge on the River Cam, from which the city takes its name. The College has its origins in the year 1428 when King Henry VI approved the establishment of a hostel on the site for Benedictine monks coming from their abbey monasteries in the Fenland to study Canon Law at the University.
The College invites applications for a Leslie Wilson Research Scholarship from well-qualified candidates who will be studying at the University of Cambridge for a PhD Degree and will have graduated from their present University before 1 October 2017. The Scholarship will be tenable for up to three years from 1 October 2017 and there is no restriction of the field of study. While consideration will normally be restricted to those who have obtained, or who have a strong prospect of obtaining, a first-class Honours degree (or its equivalent), evidence of potential intellectual development will be taken into account.
