PhD Studentship: Mechatronic system and control design for robot-assisted upper limb neurorehabilitation (2021)
Robot-assisted neurorehabilitation has been developed in the past decades to provide physical training and address limited human and financial resources in health care systems. Most of existing robotic systems for rehabilitation are bulky and thus not suitable for use at home. The idea of this project is to create a desktop robot for upper-limb rehabilitation, which is compact in size but provides sufficient functions and moving space thanks to its mobility. This project will tackle various research challenges in different steps to design such a robot, including mechatronic system design, motion control system development, GUI design and high-level human-robot interaction control design.
