Swansea University’s School of Management is pleased to offer a small number of Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA) Scholarships to successful and eligible Home/EU applicants. The GTA Scholarship is a fully funded PhD Scholarship worth a total of £19,692 per year and is comprised of a tax-free stipend of £15,285 and £4,407 PhD programme fees.
Recipients of a GTA Scholarship are required to undertake teaching duties up to a maximum of six hours per week. Duties can include preparing for and delivering seminars and marking, and provide excellent experience opportunities for prospective academics.
The successful applicants are expected to actively engage with and participate in University and College based postgraduate activity, including postgraduate training, poster competitions, seminars and postgraduate conferences.
The School of Management offers a supportive and friendly environment in which to study that combines academic rigour with business relevance.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to explore the research expertise of the School to ensure a good fit between PhD proposals and potential supervisors.
Candidates should hold a first-class or upper second class (2.1) honours Undergraduate degree and Master’s degree with at least a merit appropriate to the School of Management, preferably with a substantial research skills element.
Non-native English speakers will require a recent IELTS test with an overall score of at least 6.5 (with no individual component below 6.5). For details on the University’s English Language entry requirements, please visit our website.

Each GTA Scholarship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees and an annual stipend of £15,285.
