Fully Funded EPSRC PhD Scholarship: Identification of Micro- and Submicron-Plastics in Natural and Treated Waters and Investigate the Effect of Microplastics in Membrane Fouling

Applicants should have a minimum of a 2.1 undergraduate degree and/or a MSc or MEng in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
The candidate will need to be very able, well-motivated and keen to engage with the international science and engineering community. Analytical experience with GC-MS is desirable (TGA-GC-MS and/or Pyro-GC-MS).
For candidates whose first language is not English, we require IELTS 6.5 (with 6.0 in each component) or equivalent. Please visit our website for a list of acceptable English language tests. We prefer candidates to have already met the English Language requirements at the point of application, although this is not a requirement.
Due to funding restrictions, this scholarship is open to UK/EU candidates only.
For UK candidates: this scholarship covers the full cost of UK tuition fees and an annual stipend of £14,777.
For EU candidates: this scholarship covers the full cost of EU tuition fees only.
Additional funds to attend 1 or 2 conference per annum are also available.
