A Doctoral Research Fellowship (SKO 1017) in Music Cognition is available at the Department of Musicology, University of Oslo. Norwegian and foreign applicants can apply for this fellowship.

Applicants must have master’s degree in musicology, music cognition, music technology, cognitive psychology, computer science, human movement science, or similar. The applicant is required to document that the degree matches the profile for the post.

Eligibility

  • A Master’s degree in musicology, music cognition, music technology, cognitive psychology, computer science, human movement science, or similar. The applicant is required to document that the degree matches the profile for the post.
  • The Master’s thesis must have been submitted by the time of application, and the Master’s Degree must have been obtained by the time of appointment.
  • Personal suitability and motivation for the position.

In assessing the applications, special emphasis will be placed on:

  • The project’s scientific merit, research-related relevance and innovation
  • The applicant’s estimated academic and personal ability to complete the project within the time frame
  • The applicant’s ability to complete research training
  • Good collaboration skills and an ability to join interdisciplinary academic communities

Applicants who have recently graduated with excellent results may be given preference.
