The Curtis-Gordon Research Scholarships in Chemistry were established by Gerry Gordon, a student who worked with Professor Neil Curtis at Victoria University of Wellington from 1961 - 64, who became prominent in concrete research and the concrete industry in the United States. The Scholarships were established through the Victoria University Foundation. The purpose of the Scholarships is to encourage Chemistry students to undertake research degrees.
The closing date for applications is 30 November. Applicants will be asked to complete all documentation included on the application form.
The Scholarships will be tenable by students planning to enrol in Chemistry in the B.Sc.(Hons), M.Sc., or Ph.D. degrees in the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences in Victoria University of Wellington.
The value of the award in any year is to be decided by the Victoria Foundation after consideration of the income from the fund. For PhD and MSc (Part II) recipients the Scholarship may be up to $6000 per annum, and for BSc (Hons) and MSc (Part 1) recipients the award may be up to $3000 per annum.
