Intending to support the education of Chinese students in the United Kingdom, the University of Edinburgh is implementing the Church of Scotland funding for the academic year 2020-21.
The sponsorship will support students from Mainland China who are starting a postgraduate degree program in the United Kingdom.
Established in 1582, the University of Edinburgh is the sixth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s ancient universities. It is ranked as the top 20th universities in the world.

The scholarship is open to applicants who are both nationals and residents of mainland China who are accepted to any postgraduate programme within the School of Divinity. Applicants must upload a statement of support from the China Christian Council (see Applying section).

This scholarship covers variable costs towards tuition fees and accommodation, for each year of the prescribed period of the degree programme, subject to satisfactory academic progress.


The scholarship deadline is 23:59 GMT 6th April 2020.
In order to gain access to the scholarship application system applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Please note that, following the submission of an application for admission, it can take up to five working days for all system checks to be completed and for access to be granted.
The online scholarship application form is located in EUCLID and can be accessed via MyEd our web-based information portal at our website.
