Fully Funded KESS II MSc by Research Scholarship: Transforming towards the circular economy by leveraging digital technology â advancing the research and practice through the experiences of the Welsh economy
The project will focus on exploring and analysing the opportunities for the Welsh economy provided through a potential transition towards the circular economy. Working together with one of the worldâs pre-eminent IT services companies, Capgemini (who have their Welsh home in Trefforest), the research will particularly consider the implications of the use of digital technology to aid this transformation.
This research and knowledge exchange will undertake an evaluation of five small to medium sized organisations that are implementing or planning to implement circular economy principles. These are in the following areas:
outdoor apparel,paint recycling and re-use,paper recycling,wood construction products androad signage manufacture.
Scholarships are collaborative awards with external partners including SMEâs and micro companies, as well as public and third sector organisations. The scholarship provides 1 year funding with a 3 month period to complete the thesis. The achievement of a postgraduate skills development award, PSDA, is compulsory for each KESS II scholar and is based on a 30 credit award.
Eligibility
Candidates should have a 2.1 or above in their undergraduate degree in Business and Management or a closely related subject.
Knowledge of organisational strategy and topics related to organisational governance and responsibility are desirable.
Candidates should also be eligible for UK/EU Fees.

Benefits
The scholarship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a stipend. The bursary will be limited to a maximum of ÂŁ11,587 p.a. dependent upon the applicantâs financial circumstances.
There will also be additional funds available for research expenses.
