The Australian Wildlife Society Research Scholarship is open to postgraduate research students undertaking a research project at Western Sydney University that is of direct relevance to the conversation of Australian native wildlife (flora or fauna).

Western Sydney University, formerly the University of Western Sydney, is an Australian multi-campus university in the Greater Western region of Sydney, Australia.
Eligibility
We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, who are keen to apply their skills to key issues in wildlife conservation. In particular, the project is suitable for candidates with strong interests in wildlife conservation.
The successful applicant should:
- have an understanding of the importance of wildlife conservation.
- be enrolled at Western Sydney University in a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a relevant field of study.
Benefits
- Domestic candidates will receive a tax-free stipend of $5,000, paid in two instalments of $2,500 per semester.
- International candidates will receive a tax-free stipend of $5,000, paid in two instalments of $2,500 per semester.
The scholarship is provided to support operational costs associated with the successful candidate's research project, such as:
- Travel associated with the research project;
- Fieldwork expenses;
- Specialist software; and
- Small items of equipment.
