Walter H. Ebling began a 33 year career at the Wisconsin crop and livestock reporting service and went on to be named agricultural statistician in charge of the Wisconsin office of the Federal Crop and Livestock Estimates Service. He developed a state system of data collection not provided for under the federal reporting program and pioneered issuance of farm statistic reference bulletins for all counties in Wisconsin. He was also a Professor in the Agricultural Economics department on campus. Dr. Ebling established this scholarship in honor of his brother, Albert Adam Ebling, to recognize his life as a Wisconsin farmer.
