Eligibility

  • Must possess at least a ASEL private pilot certificate, with an interest in Alaskan aviation as a career. In your descriptive essay please address how the opportunity of adding a float rating would help advance your professional goals.
  • Time frame for completing the training is dependent upon availability at Alaska Floats and Skis- most likely Mid-September.

Benefits

This scholarship is for their standard float rating package -- 6 hours of flight time in their PA-20 on floats with an instructor, 5 hours of ground instruction, lodging for 3 nights in their lakefront lodge, and a 1-hour Alaska survival class. The checkride is also included for the scholarship recipient. Travel is not included.
