For EEA/EU students in Denmark, higher education is free, but that is not the case for non-EEA/EU students. They have to pay between 6,000 and 16,000 Euros. This is why the Danish Government and institutions offer several merit-based and region-based scholarships to attract international students to study in the Scandinavian country.

The Danish Government Scholarships for non-EU students is a master’s degree scholarship in specific programs at certain Danish higher education institutions. The annually-offered scholarships could comprise partial or full tuition fee waivers and/or living costs grants. Another available scholarship in Denmark is the IT University of Copenhagen state scholarships offered annually to three/four exceptional MSc applicants (full-degree students) who are non-EU/EEA to study in the university. The scholarship covers full tuition and part of living expenses. International students can also apply for the annual Media Art Cultures Erasmus Mundus joint master’s degree scholarships in Denmark. This discipline-based award which covers full participation fees, travel expenses plus a living stipend of €1000/month is tenable at Aalborg University.
